Personal Analysis
- During my time at Leeds my interest for editorial illustration has developed massively as I have become more socially aware and interested in politics. Working on my own editorial practice is something I should consider, such as making my own responses to newspaper and magazine articles to help me become more aware of my own professionalism and continue improving.
- Retail and merchandising also fits into my interests as applied illustration is a simple way of making money which could be useful to get my practice out there to a wider audience.
Bad Cats Club Analysis
Strengthes
- Original ideas in each design, taking inspiration from motorcycle gang patches with use of dark imagery.
- Independent
- Raises money for charity occasionally.
- High quality materials are used (knowing this because I own one of their patches).
Weaknesses
- Often sell out of products and don't restock for weeks/months resulting in loss of money.
Opportunities
- Constant opportunity to expand their products and business (started off as simple patches and now making products such as jackets etc).
- Continue raising money for charities.
- Keep the materials used to a high standard.
Threats
- Use another company to make their patches etc, if that company stops then it could jeopardise them.
- Not making enough products to fit the need of their customers.
